A huge THANK YOU to Karana Downs Rotary Club for supporting Karana Downs Pony Club with an award to help upgrade our cross-country course.
In December 2018 Karan Downs Pony Club was advised that our cross-country would need upgrading to bring it in line with current safety requirements. The course covers over 2kms of quite hilly ground and has more than 20 jumps. A number of these jumps need removing or replacing. The Ski jump in the picture is just one of the jumps that needs removing, this jump is eight metres long and the supports go one metre into the ground with concrete, so you can imagine trying to remove by hand is a huge task. The award from Karana Downs Rotary will allow us to hire a bobcat/backhoe and
operator, enabling us to remove all unsuitable jumps then complete the required groundworks to make the area safe. As you can see from the other picture, we were a tad excited when we received the award!
Once again, thank you Karana Downs Rotary for coming on board with this project and we look forward to keeping you updated as work progress.
